Game Phases
Each turn follows the standard sequence. The playtest UI tracks the current turn number and provides shortcuts for common phase actions:
- Untap - All your permanents untap (press U)
- Draw - Draw a card from your library (press D)
- Next turn - Advance to the next turn, automatically untapping and drawing (press N)
Zones
The playtest board has six zones that mirror a real game:
Hand
Your current hand of cards. Click a card to play it to the battlefield.
Battlefield
Permanents in play, organized by lands, creatures, and other types.
Command Zone
Your commander(s) start here. Click to cast them.
Library
Your deck. Click to draw. Shows remaining card count.
Graveyard
Discarded and destroyed cards. Expandable list.
Exile
Exiled cards. Expandable list.
Card Actions
Interact with cards on the battlefield:
- Tap/Untap - Click a permanent to toggle its tapped state
- Counters - Add +1/+1, -1/-1, or custom counters to any permanent
- Move - Right-click to send a card to any zone
- Flip - Transform double-faced cards
Tokens
Create token copies of permanents or standard tokens during your playtest. Tokens appear on the battlefield alongside your other permanents and can be tapped, given counters, and moved to other zones.
Token creation
Press T to create a token, or use the token menu for specific token types.
Mulligan
The playtest uses London Mulligan rules. When you start a game, you draw 7 cards. If you don't like your hand:
- Press M to mulligan - shuffle your hand back and draw 7 new cards
- After drawing, put cards on the bottom of your library (one for each mulligan taken)
- Repeat until you keep a hand
London Mulligan
Draw 7, then put back cards equal to the number of mulligans taken.
